Must-have for me: my stock Boss SD-1. My wife bought it for me.

I realize there are SO many other and better choices for various overdrive flavours, yet I really love the SD-1 to death.

    Essential (update)
    Tuner / Volume
Must have, pick at least 2 out of 3
    Comp / Phase / Distortion
Should have, pick at least 2 out 3
    Delay / Reverb / Wah
Nice to have, pick at least 2
    Chorus / Flange / Octave / Auto-Wah / Univibe / Fuzz / Overdrive / Vibrato / Equalizer / Looper

    For me it's PW-03 Tuner > YDR Proco > AW-3 > MXR Supercomp > BBE GS > BBE Soulvibe > DD-3 > Dunlop Volume Pedal

    For me is:
Tuner (I can't do that by ears, sadly)
    Delay (DMM or AD-9)
Boost (would like to find a non boutique alternative but the moment it's a RC Booster)

Hmmm for me I would say my needed pedals would be compressor, then delay, then reverb, and then maybe some sort of boost/OD.

    I use a clip-on tuner so that's a freebie!

I think this is my favourite comment on TDPRI!!! I don't get why some guys come to a thread where people have been asked about their favourite pedals and then say they don't use any. What does the OP get from that?

People should learn to not be so scared of pedals and just enjoy playing.

I currently use 1) compression 2) overdrive 3) univibe clone 4) delay. You can usually coax some kinda decent overdrive from your amp so I guess the OD pedal could be eliminated. The other 3 pedals I would need for the type of stuff I like to play. I already use the vibe clone to cover all my chorusy, phaser, flanger type stuff and theres no other way to duplicate long delays so for me its: compressor, vibe OR phaser, delay

^ Really? I thought it was like a sonic maximizer/enhancer pedal?
Maybe he can elaborate on what it does for his blues tone.

OOPS, Somehow I thought it was the 'best pedal for blues' thread:oops:

    None to be honest....
But I like delays and chorus, plus some comp now and then, alittle vibe and ringmodulator...
But none is essential, good guitar and amp is!

I dig my old dynacomp and my little dano eq. I've had some sort of muff around for the last 15 years or so.

But lately, those Catalinbread dirt pedals (dirty little secret and formula 5) have been my go to for any and all dirt. I wouldn't want to live without them anymore. I went through literally about 50 od and disto boxes looking for what I found in those 2.
