Straight from Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special of the 1970's. Left handed tele player. Oh yeah! RIP Maurice White. Great voices in that band.

The Motown Sound of the 60's evolved into the Soul music of the 70's. Ohio Players, Parliament, Funkadelic as well as Earth Wind & Fire all combined to form this music.

That's The Way Of The World.

    Such a good song!!

It's the song that made me want to own a Telecaster.
I don't know why, exactly, but that smooth rhythm guitar just sounded like a Tele to me.
Or maybe I saw a TV performance where the guy was playing a Tele.

I play the heck out of that song, but I can't get the rest of the band onboard to roll with it for live performance.

Probably because we need just a few more falsettos in the band.

    ;)

Done in typical 1970's video style. They had so many great songs. I heard these songs along with the great rock and roll of that era. Soul music had a sizable impact on music of that time.

Al McKay is a rhythm machine! Love that band, love those songs.

I covered EW&F a few times for a videogame called "Just Dance". Here's my version of "Let's Groove" if you're interested. Very cool learning experience going through how they played, recorded and arranged those songs. Incredible band.

Hands down my favorite group of musicians that fall into the popular music category.
