..randomly come home with an AC15 as a surprise? I think I got a good one..
cool, mine is a singer..so gear everywhere is allowed...a wife who participates with your music is such a blessing !
There’s 10 amps and a dozen guitars in the living room.. she’s awesome.
11 guitars 1 bass and a stack in the BR..Boss gt100 recording set up on DR table..2 stacks in the hallway..portable plexi stack in other hallway,,,and full band room with 2 guitar stacks, 1 bass stack and 8 speaker pa..your house seems like mine !!
My wife is my gear enabler. I fell in love with a 56 reissue Strat I played at GC one day. She says, “Why didnt you get it?”. My reply, “its 2300.00!” She says, “So?, If you like it, go get it.” I couldn’t do it but, what a gal.
What? That is one hell of a surprise!
+1 My wife is a gear enabler.
You guys are very lucky. Mine wants to know why I need more than 1.
My wife has bought me six guitars. She’s a keeper.
When I found a new job with a hefty signing bonus my wife insisted I use it to buy my dream guitar....
... so I did!
Never with an AC15... but in the last year my wife has surprised me with a Yamaha revstar 502, got me a Yamaha thr10c, and strongly encouraged me to get the HX effects I was back/forth about getting... they’re a rare breed.
My wife plays bass and learning guitar. She gets more GAS than I do at times. She just traded up and bought a new Fender Mustang Bass with a neck to die for. She is the one that talked me into going 4x over budget for the National reso that I got over a year ago. Yup, a keeper to be sure and her timing is impeccable, which inspires me to no end.
I too am blessed. My wife is an enthusiastic participant in my obsession. Just Sunday discussing a potential purchase she said “well I don’t know if I’m cool with some cheap ass Squire in my house”. I swear to god I’ve never loved her more. True story
Well . . . that's one surprise I never got. Congrats!
The Mrs. has surprised me with a couple of guitars over the years. Just recently she remarked how she likes all the gold knobs on my 2 new Marshalls. That's her way to acknowledge that she approves of the new gear acquisition.
Does she have a sister? Preferably, left handed...
My wife supports the sale of my gear...
All kidding aside, my wife has never done that. She fully understands that she has no knowledge of the musical tools I desire. She supports my ultimate goals with grace, but also keeps me accountable for the lust.
My gear won't allow me to have a wife.
However, I just sold a guitar that my girlfriend had tried to talk me out selling! She plays too, so that helps.
Congrats, you are a lucky guy.
My ex was more likely to have made off with my amps and sold them as a surprise for when I arrived home. Then she would have taken great pleasure in rubbing it in during her break up text message.
Happy new amp day.
