Do Limiter Pedals Exist?

    I was wondering if there was a pedal that limited the amount of volume output. That way you could crank all your pedals and they would all be the same volume.

    Yes...MXR used to make a limiter, as did Boss, several others.

    Please know that a limiter is not anything more that a compressor with an extremely high or even infinite ratio. It also is NOT something that does what you described, as it does not do anything below the threshold; a limiter only prevents things from going over a certain peak (hence the name)

    Yeah I'm guessing you're looking for a compressor. I'd strongly recommend the MXR Dyna Comp.

    I own one of the boss lm-2's and yes technically you could but you'd have to run it at the end of your effects chain to do as you've described. Not really the place you'd put a compressor

    I think a compressor would do the trick

    I used to use an Art limiter in my signal chain, I was just recently wondering what ever happened to it. It sounded nice had a tube in it. It was useful for recording if I remember correctly .

    Boss lm-2 limiter.
    I've got one on my board and its just great.very neutral sounding and way cheaper used than a boss cs-2.Couldnt be without mine.
