Our singer used his directional mic cable the wrong way round at the last wedding gig. We were trying to play 'Lady in Red' but his vocal came out "Satan has arisen. Kill Kill Kill"
The year is 1987.
Would you rather have dinner with Enid Lumley or Joanna Lumley?
Anybody but me pick Enid?
TDPRI has a higher standard of proof than the FDA. Faster, too.
They are on amazon now! I had to hunt down 10 years ago. My stepdad accidentally turned me on to them when he gave me his gig bag from the 70's. The whirlwind cables were the only thing in the bag that still worked.
They do make some great products.
There is no cable that I can't break, they call me right-angle-Wallace
Dinner with Enid......she picks up the check. The rest of the evening and breakfast with Joanna.
Michael Laiacona is the guy who founded Whirlwind. He was an MXR principal player.
Whirlwind makes very good gear on the whole. Their regular line cables use very high quality wire with Switchcraft or Neutrik ends and is US made . Their budget line is, well, budget line stuff, decent wire with decent ends. They are like craftsman in the fact that if your cable croaks even after 20 years and you send it to them they will send you a new one. Lifetime warranty.
They used to send a little extra something with a cable order like a jar of Whilrwind hot sauce, t-shirt etc. This is because Michael Laiacona is a very entertaining fellow who knows how to promote his company. He is very fun to talk to if you ever get the chance. In the old days we'd say he's a "card".
Ive got my old whirlwind tshirt hanging around somewhere.
From my hometown of Rochester, NY. All my cables are Whirlwind.
