Really, there's no way they broke 90. Last one of these I heard sounded like it was, at best, high eighties, maybe 87% max.

What if...the speed of signal propagation is 91% SOL in one direction, so with a directional cable, if you switch directions, wouldn't it be 109%, which makes up for the loss in the other direction? So the electrons actually time travel. So, if you look closely, the tubes will begin to glow, a few seconds before you switch on the amp. Right? Woah.

Here's the thing: if you're going to tout that 99.9% of the population either can't hear the difference or can't wrap tehir minds around the difference, it boils down to whether or not it's worth the spend to YOU. Because you've already acknowledged that the vast majority of your audience won't be able to tell a difference.

I would argue that if 99.9% of people can't "wrap their mind around the difference," then in fact there is no difference and the other 0.1% are deluding themselves.

Confirmation bias is a real thing and this seems to demonstrate the phenomenon very well.

It's kind of like if someone who believes in aliens visiting the Earth saw a UFO descending in the noontime sky and nobody else saw it, we'd probably not take it that there was a UFO in the sky; we'd probably say the person who claims to see it is having an hallucination and needs a 72 hour psychiatric hold and probably medication.

How is that any different, except that the person claiming to hear the difference in the cable probably isn't a danger to themselves or others?

Its funny i just spent a while on evidence's website apparently they dont claim "directionality " anymore and i cant find a thing about this ground lift concept mr green tree claims is the special sauce.

From what i can tell the website just says they are good quality cables. Which is fair enough. Maybe he got tired of engineers poo pooing on his marketing. Either way they are still overpriced.

Edit - if anyone wants a fair priced cable that will never break and wont color your sound. Whirlwind Leader Instrument Cable (Straight, 10 ft) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002I9QHS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_D-hnyb0MDQBD5

Hendrix used lamp cord. That was the source (and deeply held secret sauce) of his amazing tone!

Maybe these audiophiles are some kind of alien mutants that can actually hear these ultra high gigahertz frequencies.

They are essentially saying they can 'hear' microwaves.

I can hear my microwave, every time I heat up a can of Campbell's soup. Is Campbell's alien soup? Now, I'm worried!

    And then there's this...

    http://audiophile.rocks/starxlr.html

    As you can see...

"If you liked the Sand XLR interconnects we now have an upgraded Star version for improved bass, contrast and detail. The silver conductors are thicker and the signal wires are placed inside a 25mm tube with the ground wire running on the outside. This extra Resonance Filtering gives incredible performance from your audio system."

The ground wire runs on the outside! Clearing the path for the elections to flow unimpeded through the core of the cable, obviously. Otherwise, those pesky ground electrons would get in the way and slow the pure sound electrons down.

$10,000 (NOT a typo!) for a pair of two meter cables. Two four meter cables are only $15,000, so quite the bargain. If you're already using the (no) Evidence Audio for your guitar, I'm thinking you REALLY need a couple of these for your microphones!!!!!

Holy crap, what's wrong with people?

The point I was trying to make is not about the cables. It's about us.

To further illustrate take my little (BS) test:

If you understand any of the following references give yourself one point.

    • Chesterfield logo
    • Flat logo
    • Alnico II or Alnico IV
    • 1458 chips
    • 6120
    • 1484
    • 5e3
    • Flying G
    • AA763
    • Amperex
    • Winged C
    • Bias vary
    • Speed knob
    • Kaylor
    • Sperzl
    • Binson
    • Meek
    • Anniversary colored
    • Lawsuit
    • 3 bolt
If you scored above a three you are whacked. ( actually you get three bonus points for finding the test so you are whacked before you even took the test. This may not be fair but it's my BS test and they are my BS rules)

If your score was 10 to 15 you are really goofy.

If you score 15 to 19 you are quite silly.

A perfect score and think it wasn't hard enough or you find composing a post like this amusing and think some others would also find it amusing, you are bereft of good sense in several ways.

I scored 15 -- Am I silly or goofy? Your scoring rubric overlaps.

Pointing out the goofy rating system hidden test bonus points: add 6.
So your weighted test score is 21 which is off the chart.

I 'm not sure being off this particular chart is all that good of a thing but none the less, you certainly earned it.

So, I win? I win! Yay!!!

Oh, wait -- What? Winning might not be a good thing?

Nah, winning is always good. Even if it's only a Pyrrhic victory...

21 = "You are Andy Kaufman," right? I'll take it!

("Pyrrhic Victory" -- Good name for a band right there, don't ya think?)
