Bonamassa needs to get that 53'. I would like to see him use it and it probably has some sentimental value as well.

Yah, I spotted that on another forum, earlier today...some great pieces. I luckily saw him jam with Seymour Duncan, locally, about a year before his passing. The Humbler, was so, scary, great!!!

I'd rather, a real, Telecaster player have it...

I would hope Brian Setzer would get it. Rockabilly is in his blood and even though he plays mainly Gretsch, it would be a tribute to Gatton to have Setzer wail on it...

In a perfect world, Roy Buchanan would be the only one to take it...

There are some pretty amazing hi-res pictures of all the guitars in this auction if you click on the "view full size" button.

let's put some wild guesses out there on how much it will sell for. I'd say since danny gatton is not a keith richards fame wise and has more of a guitarists guitarist fame I guess there are limits. My guess it will go for around 45k max.

In a perfect world, Danny would still be playing it...

I get what everyone is saying about Bonamassa but when I saw him a few months back at the Chicago Theater he played a Blonde tele with a RW board. He plays quite differently when he uses that guitar. He also is a better player than he shows. Sure, he plays blues music and some rock but he has a pretty good understanding of different genres of music. You can hear that in his current live shows.

    Autographs?

Looks like I see Willie Nelson's and Roger Miller's (?) signatures on the 53 tele. Am I seeing things?

I'm a blues guy...the only time I saw Bonamassa, was in WA, '93, @ the Gorge. He was 12 & touring with B.B. King, for the summer, while school was out. As many have testified, a Telecaster will bring out a different player, than other guitars...it almost see's through you & would be very telling to hear what comes through?

In the literature... " As an added touch, Danny had Roger Miller and Willie Nelson (both of whom he played for) sign the top of the guitar"

I didn't know that Mr. Gatton had played for those two men.

Wow - that is such a grail.

No no no. And not Steven Seagal either.

    Blake Mills.

If I was wealthy I'd buy it to loan it to that wizard..
