    I am hesitantly posting here.

    Why?

Because I'm going to love this group so much I'm going to get sucked down into a board posting vortex that I may not see the sun for days.

The calibre of the posts, knowledge base, members, etc, scares the bejeebers out of me. Not that I'm scared of knowledge, but because I am anxious to learn, share my knowledge, and build new relationships.

I'm a long time player of a Strat, but have recently gotten in to Teles and can't figure out what took me so long. I frequently play live, record, and produce music for the production industry. But I find that I'm reaching for my growing collection of Teles before anything else. And I love it.

Thanks for adding me. I'm preparing for my downward spiral.

Here's a pic of my latest build, watching my bass player take a lead ride. I love a bass player who can tap like EVH :)

    Welcome to our group!
I've never claimed (or pretended) to have very much knowledge, but we all have some
incredibly wide ranging experiences to share.
Aside from Teles, I've learned a great deal about wood finishing and aviation history from members
posting here. You'll enjoy it here.

Welcome aboard, Jim. I checked out your Singing Dog studio site, very impressive. I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Welcome aboard! always enjoy the Oklahoma folks, having lived there myself, a coupla decades ago. One of my daughters is an OSU grad.

Sometimes, when I introduce a song, I say (with humor intended) "here's a song that comes from Oklahoma - I was sentenced to live there for 5 years, back in the 90's..." and sometimes, the audience goes real quiet, like I was confessing to prison time or something...not everyone gets my sense of humor directly. I do miss a lot of the people I met there.

And thanks for the photos - have to agree, a good bass player is a joyful thing!

At some point, you're going to have to tell us more about telecaster build and whatever other teles have crossed your path. Plus we have a place here for talking about strats and such, no need to be shy...

    Happy Friday!

Welcome......but is that a tiny Tele you're playing or are you just that big of a guy? :)

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

4 CATS - Interesting how all these other interests cross over?

BLUE BILL - thanks for taking a look at Singing Dog Studios...trying to turn it into retirement income when I get to that point. Until then, it's just a hobby that helps support my bad habits. Like guitars and gear. And guitars.

TELETIMETX - Never thought I would end up in Oklahoma, but I'm finding the folks here a lot like the folks in Iowa. Genuine, warm, caring. Except they have a little bit of an accent :)

NOJAZZHERE - Neither. I'm 6' and the Tele build is standard sized. Just lens optics.

    THANKS AGAIN FOR THE ADD!

Thanks! I've been poking around a bit and it's so easy to get start reading something and the next thing you know it's 45 minutes later. Then I think "I need to stop reading about this stuff and start playing!" So the upside is it makes me either want to build my next guitar or pick up on that I have and start playing it. :)

You see, I'm your opposite. I love Teles and I tried to get intro Strats, got way too many of them, only to realize I still love Teles and Les Pauls. So... Post away! LOL
