Man! I was driving along when I heard the Doobie Brothers' "Listen to the Music" on my old radiodio. I thought "Hey! I can handle that rhythm! I'm going have to get on YouTube and learn the chords."

Imagine my chagrin when I realized that there is no way I can play those bar chords and hammerons with my crippled up left hand.

I generally don't get to bummed about it and just do my thing. It's just every once in a while I hit something that I just can't physically play.

Enough whining! Sack up and play some Neil Young, Fatboy! :D

Who else has disabilities like this? Missing fingers, arthritis, severe carpal tunnel, congenital lack of talent disorder...

Jeez....sure sorry about all that. Missing fingers? Well, Django found ways to cope, but I doubt I could. At least you're not like my dad.....he always said he couldn't even play a radio!

Yep, that's not too far from where I am. My pinky does work at about 50%. That's what keeps me in the game.

Well physically, anyway. There's also that congenital lack of talent disorder. lol

I will admit I have trouble with four finger barre chords in so much as the stamina and endurance to hold that shape for extended periods.

I've been learning bass guitar for a couple of weeks now, and my left hand has been at some level of discomfort because of it.

I look at this as a good thing and look forward to where I might be in 30 and 60 days with it.

    Poor Jerry.

How could he drive without that finger?

My excuse used to be that my fingers were too big for normal guitar necks. Now my fingers (and the rest of me) are about 30% smaller, I'm starting to be able to do things I never could. Hell of a way to get there though !

Now it's just a lack of talent :)
