No. This guitar came up in question a few weeks ago.

It may be a legit HWY 1 neck but it's almost certainly not a HWY 1 body.

    Likely a Squier body.

I've owned two burst HWY 1 tele's, in my opinion that tele is NOT a HWY 1, period.

Yeah, neck looks OK, but the upper bout strap button looks wrong for a highway one.

I agree with the others, not a Hwy 1 body.

I'm not sure if all HW1 bodies were satin nitro finished, but my parts caster body is. Those pictures show a very glossy finish. And something just looks "off" about it as well.

No expert, but I agree with the others. I thought they all came with the thin satin finish...mine was an '06 or '07 honey blonde and certainly had it.

As far as the neck, mine has the 70s headstock big logo and really tall frets, but the earlier ones may not have had that, sure you can easily find that out.

Definitely not a steal at $600, but if it plays well I wouldn't care and would try to negotiate a lower price. Or if you'd rather not deal with the guy since he's not being honest I'd understand that too.

The problem of discussing and/or negotiating with the seller is you never know the true circumstances. The seller may not be familiar with what's "authentic" and may have been taken in by the person HE got it from. He may think YOU (as buyer) are trying to scam him for the purpose of getting the price down. I can't begin to tell you how many potential buyers have tried to "nitpick" something I'm offering, just to get a bargain.
This is why I simply try to judge a guitar for what it is as a PLAYER.....I don't go for vintage or collectible guitars. If I like playing it, and I can buy for a price that I consider FAIR FOR ME AND MY BUDGET, I'm interested. Otherwise.....I'll simply pass.

Reminds me of a Squier Standard body finish.

From the stark burst contrast and the slightly reddish center, that looks like a Squire Standard body.

Edit: As always, @BorderRadio thought just a bit more quickly than I did. :D
