Hello all, I'm trying to learn a bit about 'country style guitar solos and licks', to apply this language to other songs or to my ownsolos.

Problem is, country is not really a known style of music in Spain and I need references about songs and artists.

Could you recommend me a couple of songs with nice guitar solos, to guide me on my learning path. NOT super difficult Jonny Hiland type, something more affordable for a country newbie.

Thanks all, and have a nice Easter holidays!!

    Greetings from Spain!

Merle Haggard, Mama Tried and Working Man Blues. Not super easy, but not Albert Lee/Johnny Hiland hard.

Look up Ray Flacke's solo in Ricky Skaggs' "Highway 40 Blues".

That whole album is pretty good.

Most any Vince Gill album will have some fairly accessible solos.

Some solos will depend on which era of "country music" your looking at.

Also look up Don Rich, Grady Martin, Reggie Young and Brent Mason. The list could go on.

There's tons of lessons on You Tube.

If you really want to learn the country style, I recommend Ken Carlson's "Country Guitar Chops". There are a few lessons on youtube but better yet his lesson package is worth the money.
