Paul Waller of the Fender custom shop, Corona, built this really Cool mahogany body Esquire for the NAMM show this year...
He has built some of the best Custom Fenders I've seen over the years that he has been there...
I had the pleasure to play this one....
He wound the pickup himself, a heated up Fender Jazzmaster pickup...
Don't know exactly what he did, but DAMN this thing sounds GOOD!
in combination with the body wood it is amazing....
I've played lots of Teles and this one is memorable...
Takes pedals like they were made for it....
the pickup sound fits perfectly between a Broadcaster bridge and TV Jones Filtertron...Like the best P-90 you've heard...It played and sounded like perfection thru my Fender Reverbs and VOX amps...
Talk about a HotRod.... Forget your Les Paul Jr. and MelodyMaker!

With the Fender scale and neck...Whew!!!
iPhone photo, at NAMM, of guitar not to clear...

when I played it, he only had the one volume knob/pot....now tone included...

What is that, a Mustang or Jazzmaster bridgeplate? Very resourceful.

I'm normally not a fan of 3-saddle bridges (being an intonation freak and distrustful of the influence having 3 saddles instead of 6 can have on tone) but that is certainly onr of the coolest bridges I've ever seen.

I'm sure she sounds fantastic! I do wish it had two pups though....

It is a Jazzmaster Jaguar bridge blank that was custom punched to have a string thru body... and three hole bridge setup.....:)

    I love everything about this.

    Outstanding!

It would kill the look, but I'd like a jazzmaster vibrato unit on it.

i bought it as a masterbuilt guitar by paul waller
for 2875 U.S dollars...the price is very very low
if we consider that a masterbuit cs guitar have price
    much more high...
when i pull off the tuners i saw that are japanese made
is possible that on a cs guitars there are this vintage style
    -kluson- made in japan?
    thank you

Fender Custom Shop uses Gotoh made in Japan tuners on many models.

Its easy to see if its a fake Im sure its real but if your worried email the serial # to Fender.
