So as of today, September 30th, I haven't bought a single pedal in 2017. #withArtdecade
    Only three months to go.
    I think I can. I think I can.
The plus side of this is that since I've been forced to use what I already have, I've learned quite a bit more about my gear. Who knew?

For those wishing to learn more about our noble endeavors, I offer the following links...

I just broke down and bought an Eventide H9 Max plus a Moog expression pedal. I programmed a list of 14 presets using the iOS interface (incredibly easy!) and now this one unit replaces:

    delay
    chorus
    autowah
    wah
    rotary-Leslie simulator
    phaser
    flanger
    univibe
    reverb
    organ simulator/octaver
    whammy pitch shifter
    tremolo
    tuner
plus a couple of super cool synth effects as well....

    Pretty incredible, actually.

Congrats. I didn't think you could make it this long.;) Actually, I was kinda hoping that you and artdecade would fall off the wagon, so that I could too, but so far, I'm hanging tough with you guys. I now have two pedals in my sights and hopefully my very last pedals :)lol::lol::lol:). I ended up spending my budget (well actually way the heck over budget) on a guitar, so this was a good year to stay away from adding pedals. I have built a smaller pedalboard and have sold a few pedals in preparation for my final pedal chain (yeah, I know ...). I too have spent time scrutinizing my existing pedals and am very satisfied with what I have. It has been a year of simplification and focus for me, so I thank both of you for initiating the concept. I noticed a lot of fallout over the first 9 months, so we will see who can hang in there for the full year.

I'm still new pedal free this year. I plead poverty more then will power. Wait. Does a multi-outlet power supply count as a pedal? I'll say no since it only powers pedals rather then alters the guitar signal. Still, that's the only thing I've bought this year gear-wise other then strings and that '60's Lacquer Jaguar.

Not only have I not purchased any pedals this year; I'm about to reduce the size of my pedalboard!

Just give me a good tube amp and an overdrive pedal and you can have all the rest.

Sounds like there may be some money burning a hole in your pocket...;) You'll make the three months, but what's the first thing you'll check out when time is up?

I'm trying desperately to get purchases out of my system now so that next year I can run with only what I have and do some soul searching.

Yup, this was the year of soul searching for me too. I've narrowed down my musical focus and whittled away at my gear. I sold a guitar and bought a guitar to focus more as well. I think I'm very close to what I need and want ... but of course, I say that every few years.:lol:

    Here
I made it through the first 8 1/2 months until I stumbled upon a somewhat hard-to-find Keeley modded Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive for $70 on Reverb. Heck, the Keeley mod alone (discontinued) cost $59 back in the day.

It's absolutely fantastic for a light overdrive without a big TS mid-hump. Instant Vince Gill goodness to my ears (except for the guitar playing part!).

I've only bought two so far in '17; a replacement BBv1 clone and a CSOD clone. I don't feel too bad about either purchase. They're both getting used.
