I ask this because I ran out of my last bag of Lavazza SC, and remembered I received a bag of some coffee named Death Wish from a buddy at Christmas. I had never heard of it, but my bud swears by it, and I now know why:confused: Made a pot of this, this morning, and really didn't think about it being that different! About half way thru the second big cup, I started noticing we really need to clean the cob webs out of our ceiling corners:eek: Holy Crap Batman!! Talk about tweeking, this stuff tastes great, but I feel like I'm walking a foot off the ground! I like It:)

    Dunkin Donut.

Although, my home brewer does not do it justice.
Next might be Jamaican blue mt or Cuban coffee.

Caribou Reindeer Blend and Archer Farms Cafe Mosaica are my two favorite grounds. My preferred brew method is using a French Press to make Cold Brew.

If I'm in a rush and didn't prepare any before hand, I just toss a Green Mountain Dark Magic or Gevalia Dark Royal Roast KCup in the Keurig.

If you roast your own beans, go with Primos, if you want roasted whole bean, hard to beat the Blue Macaw Jamaican coffee. Pay a little more and get Kona. I French Press mine, awesome coffee.

    1. Lion Coffee (Hawaii) Diamond Head Espresso.

    2. Oren's (NYC) Beowulf Blend.

Both are espresso roasts, but they make a damn fine pot of regular drip coffee, too.

I'm bimodal, and proud of it! After my morning coffee, I switch to ... green tea for the rest of the day.

I have been using a Keurig for so long, I forgot what good coffee tastes like. No matter what brand I put in, it all tastes weak. Should I go back to a drip brewer? I tried French Press, but too much of a hassle.

    It all depends.

If I'm lazy, Folger's Colombian in the Bunn drip unit. Even Maxwell House if it's on sale.

If I'm motivated---raw beans in several varieties from my buyer's club (JOIN ONE!!!). Roasted in a cast iron skillet on my gas stovetop. Ground in a little gizmo I bought at Goodwill for just this evolution ($2).
Brewed in a mocha pot or french pressed.

    I like coffee.

Folgers classic from the office Bunn. So good, I miss it on the weekends when all I have is that burned-up $8/lb stuff my wife buys.

My "favorite" changes quite a bit. On weekends, Mrs. 3T prefers large quantity percolator style made with Lavazza or a Costa Rican bean that she knows about. Since she already made it, why not?

During the week, in my monastic work existence, I make one cup with the Melitta drip filter, and it varies between Community Club (once in a blue moon, chicory!) or Eight O'Clock or some version of Colombian beans. I even like the hazelnut stuff - apostasy!

I suppose my true favorite is Jamaican Blue Mountain - but if I drank that all the time, it wouldn't be quite as special.

Every now and then, I scan through an article like this, just looking for something else to try.
