I’d heard Chris Stapleton’s name before but never listened to his music until a couple months ago. Grabbed his “From a Room” Volumes 1 and 2 from the library.
I much prefer Vilume 2 and in fact, I think it is one of the best sounding albums I’ve ever heard.
His voice is great and the musicianship is great, but it just SOUNDS SO GOOD!
Kudos to whoever recorded, mixed and mastered it.
    It’s like...well...music to my ears.
I understand one of his favorite guitars is a Deluxe Nashville Telecaster, too.

    A steel guitar engagment.
Get the Steeldrivers record from 2008. Dark B&W cover. It has Chris as the vocalist and guitar player; all acoustic soulful, bluesy, bluegrassy etc. Really shows how powerful his voice is.

“Whiskey and You” is one of my favourite tunes to cover, he’s a great writer and performer

So apparently I like country music now. Didn't see that coming.

In awe of Chris Stapleton...great on so many levels. And he's got a nice collection of vintage guitars as well!

I believe he falls into the "Americana" genre. I've been hearing him on Pandora on my Jason Isbell station. Had no idea what he looked like or that he played guitar.

Is he still using Dave Cobb?

I haven’t kept up with the most recent ones.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Agree! Here's a really good (IMO) live version of Stapleton performing that tune:
