Seems inexpensive, not to much to loose if it turns out to be cr#p. and you can always list it back on ebay.

If you want an EP booster, buy an EP booster. If you want a cheap box that says EP booster on it without really knowing if it's an EP booster circuit, then buy that chinese thing. If you want a cheap box with an actual EP booster circuit inside, build yourself one.

I've been looking at these too.

If it's crap, the housing, pot, switch and jacks are worth it already ... :)
I think I'm going to get one anyway.

    Guess I'm gonna find out soon, I couldn't pass on a $15 deal :)
In case, it will make a handy SD pickup booster enclosure as well.

    More like an inexpensive forgery.

Like my Asian friend once told me, you can live like a King for month over there with $100. It says a lot about the rest of the world , but I ain't complainin'.

Most of these clone Chinese pedals do a pretty good job of accuracy compared to the brand name versions. The Chinese are the acknowledged masters of reverse engineering so once they can take a peek at what's inside it's not awfully hard to reproduce it.

I can't believe it's very difficult to buy the needed components and then have a labor force that costs a fraction of what minimum wage US workers make them and sell them profitably for a fraction of what these boutique jobs cost. They also don't spend the huge sums of money the boutique guys spend promoting their stuff either.

Are there quality difference? Some, but not enough to justify 4x to 5x the cost and sometimes more. If EHX can clone the Klon and sell it for $60 and change street price then $40 for an OCD or Sweet Honey clone isn't too unbelievable either.

In the two to two and half years I've been playing some of mine I haven't had any problems with them and even if I did for $35-$40 I can buy another and still be dollars ahead of the brand name version. Based on my experience with them I have no reason to put them down.

Anybody try one yet? I'm becoming a fan of MIC pedals, haven't had a problem with any of them. Caline is putting out some great clones, fulldrive 2,timmy,plexitone and mad professor delay. I'd like to hear some thoughts on the EP booster, but it looks like they've already raised the price?

It's really fascinating to watch how they set the pricing.
They usually test the waters with a couple auctions starting at $1, then you see BIN items pop up with different price levels and some time after the street price becomes the highest price people were willing to pay.

And this scheme happens with most everything like e.g. pairs of Si transistors listed @ $2 $3 $4 and $5 until ask/bid settles on a given price.
I see countless other MIC items selling this way on eBay

I got the one from the 2nd ebay link, it arrived today. First impressions are pretty good. At a later time I will A/B it with my Atomic Brain Nocturne pedal, which is kind of pointless since the Nocturne uses the Roland Space Echo preamp circuit, while the one I just got purports to use the Echoplex circuit. But it does sound nice and at the low price I paid I will not be afraid to gig it.

I planned on building one of these for fun, but at those prices there is no point. It's unfortunate the Xotic EP boost (and this clone) mentions the EP-3 because it has nothing in common with it. That doesn't make it bad at all, or not useful, just a little irritating in that they (should) know better to say it is something that it is not. It just doesn't reflect well on their brand, but that's their game.

The EP boost doesn't sound anything like the EP3 circuit either.
