That's a great job dude. Love that tailpiece.
Really liking that headstock...along with everything else.
That looks fantastic!!
Looks great man! These guitars are not easy to make. Not that any of them are, but these really are tough.
Lovely job , well done you. Award yourself 24 stubbies.
Och thanks, and I don't even drink. Still got a hangover from my last night at Tennants on Byres Road.
Tennants eh, Been in there many time over the years.
Ok, here's the finished instrument:
I did a little more fretwork yesterday prior to installing D'addario Chromes strings. I've never had a guitar with flatwounds before; very different.
I'm happy all round with feel, sound, appearance etc.
I took it over to a mate's for a road test. He gave it the thumbs up. Practically had to prise it from his fingers!!!
The main point of this project was to lift my skills and also to acquire a new jazz guitar at a reasonable cost, not including labour of course.
Yes, I'm very pleased with this one.
If I can figure out how to add sound samples I'll try to include that later but, as mentioned earlier; carbon paper is pretty much my technical level.
I'd like to thank everyone for the kind comments and input during this build. It has been very encouraging.
Now, I just have to learn how to play it.............
Great job. That's beautiful.
Wow. Super nice! When can we hear it??
That is really a work of art.
As I mentioned in @richa’s thread, yours and his are the ones I was checking on every night to see how they were shaping up. One day I intend to build a nice arch top to keep my semi hollow body Ibanez Artist company.
As far as providing sound samples, if you can somehow get a digital audio clip, you can upload it to SoundCloud and then link/embed it on here. I’ve got a Mac computer and a cheap digital interface called a Fast Track. I plug the guitar into my computer, fire up Garageband and record a series of obnoxious and self indulgent noises. Then I export it to Soundcloud to annoy people. I believe I have 2 followers. Lord knows why.
Been following this all along, that is one beautiful guitar, you sir have some skills.
Speechless! Absolutely beautiful. Fantastic job dude.
My orders in the mail.
Wow! That is beautiful. The final color is stunning as well as the craftsmanship.
