For the last few years I have been collecting and playing vintage Canadian tube amps. Some of these have made it to other countries and show up in pawn shops and second hand stores..seen any lately :)

Start with Garnet my personal favorite.
The sound of the "Guess Who"
Below is my single 6l6 12" Gnome with trem
and my 1969 Garnet Sessionman 2-12"
I have owned the deputy(marshall copy), Mini Bass and many of the stencil brands

    Thorcraft

    Hank Thorkleson
Partner with Gar Gilles (Garnet amps) in the 60's repairing appliances
    Built radio's in the 60's
Moved to Vancouver and continued Thorcraft but focused on guitar Amps

Built 2 model The "Cobra" and "Mustang"

    This is the Mustang
Single El84 10" speaker with tube driven tremolo. very cool well built amp. With proper safe transformers unlike some other budget builder

    KEIL

K.E.I.L or Kingston Electronics Industries Limtied (also built under United Brand)

Very Similar build to the Thorcraft,

1 el84 10" speaker, great tone and cool grill cloth. The speaker ready to explode sound is great for basement use.

    Johnson Amps

Another one of my person favorites.

    Johnson amps for Brandon Manitoba.
Albert Johnson Built amps in the 50s-60s

Very high quality builds with great components

This one is my Johnson Celestion- 2 6l6 tube rec.

the only problem is when you have people over and ask them if they want to play with my "Johnson" or see my "Johnson"..

    Verlage

    Verlage Amps.

Built in a small town 30 mins away from my home

Ken Verlage Built amps in Humbolt Saskatchewan and then moved to Regina and continued to build.

I have Had 2 of his 100 watt VTR-100 heads and I am looking at this combo this week.

Kinda a mess as they are re-worked fanon P.A amps but none the less very cool and extremely loud and clean.

I had a couple of small Garnets when I lived/toured the Great White North.
They sounded great, and never faltered.
Don't see any round these parts.
    Sigh.

I have a Traynor Guitar Mate from that era. It looks almost identical to your Bass Master.

I'm impressed! Never knew there were so many Canadian amp companies. Sort been a Fender amp user most my life with a few others in the mix. Be real cool to have a collection of rare Canadian amps.

No pics but I had a cool vox clone by a company from Kitchener called velvetone. It looked like from the 60s.

Had another one from the 60s called Northland. It had a12 inch speaker, 2 EL 84s and 2 12ax7s.

My first amp was a Traynor. Best amp I ever had. Never should have sold it.

I have a friend in Barrie who is building tube amps from vintage schematics and vintage components. I have 2 of his amps at home... a 15 watt combo and a 1 watt "head" that I plug the speaker from the combo into. Both are great sounding amps.

    Check him out here... http://www.pearsonamplification.com/
