Was it ridden by a ghost jockey?

Horse bucked and rider was thrown off coming out of the gate. The horse that got squeezed out in the Derby won this one.

Hey, it's a horse race. At least no one was hurt. Gotta give that horse credit for trying to do what he was supposed to do.
Maybe some controversy about the starter guy guy still holding the reins when the gate opened.

I’m 12 mikes from Pimlico and this was the quietest race week ever.
Preakness needs to move to Laurel
The track is in Shambles and the infield once overloaded with spectators( although drunk and unruly at times) have now abandoned the event. ( look for video of the Running of the Port a potties)
    Time to shut her down.

I would hate to be a horse beaten with a whip for the duration of the race. The riderless horse seemed a lot more happy.

That's a NASCAR crowd, right there. Thankfully, Saratoga doesn't get like that.

We went once in 1980-something...the year Easy Goer was the favorite. I am pretty sure (could be misremembering but don't think so) that you could bring as much beer/wine (maybe liquor too) as you could carry, but just no glass. There were people hauling in big fishing coolers full of can beer. We got into the infield around noon...people were already completely hammered. It was packed. You couldn't even see the horses at all. There were bands all day long. I remember local bands like Great Train Robbery and Kix were there. Saw a porta-crapper get pushed over with a guy INSIDE...can you imagine?!? A lot of people were just pissing on the ground wherever they happened to be standing.

I miss that English Steeplechase they use to broadcast in the '60s. Guaranteed 3 dead horses, 1 dead jockey and more of each injured.

Honey , wheres the sarcasm font, I don t want them to think I'm serious, and hey this, you talk and it writes, thing works great !
