The David Gilmour thread got me thinking. Could we think of a song that everyone on this site would like?

With such a diverse membership, could there possibly be one song that we all agree on. One song that nobody would say that they dislike?

As you scroll through this thread (now 9 pages, with 2200 views), could you hit the Like button for any of the songs that you don't dislike?

Brian wilson once argued with alice cooper, john lennon and Harry Nilson, that "shortening bread" was the perfect song. Course they'd been drinking and whatnot at the time according to sources present.

I do like the melody and it could be performed in any number of arrangements.

I'm not sure we can all agree that David Gilmour plays the guitar, let alone on a song everyone likes.

(And bridge is one of my least favorite S&G songs)

No one will ever agree on lyrics, so just for openers, it would have to be an instrumental. I nominate "Maggot Brain."

    Ah! The Wild Rover....

Back in the early eighties I played that on an old acoustic in a Norwegian night club (long story) and it went down very well. However; everyone was totally plastered!

It rocks. It swings. It has lead solos. It makes pretty girls want to smile and dance. It even has a false ending before the final break out. The perfect song.

Let's pick a track by one of our long-time favourites, totally non-divisive guitar heroes and master songwriters. Someone like John Mayer. Or Joe Bonamassa

Why do we all need to agree on anything?
