I picked a random cap ...
Almost there a good setup and a string tree .
I worked on it last night and today , the intonation is done , pickups and bridge height done . I will need to do the neck but it has not moved yet . Its plays pretty good already , its too late for a video tonight i guess i could do one without amp .
The first test ! Old vs new , my favorite and well played guitar vs my new build .
I tried to make it interesting since its after a reasonable hour to play with my amp .
NGD to me ! Actually this was the first neck i made !
I still need to make a pickguard and a logo , but i think i could do a little sound today ...
Also in the last video , i tried to show that with age the guitar sounds less like the strings and more of the wood , that effect was caused by playing or else in this case.
I also have this type of pickguard in mind .
I really like the way Spanish cedar sounds , and its a good match for the maple neck . I think i will call her Marika , First amp test its not the cleanest i have played but the tone is there.
This is the first neck i made 100 % on my own , the second made by my jigs 1953 tele baseball bat shape . It plays great and even after a few days and loosening the rod no movement yet hence some minor buzzing .
This is all and only because of all knowledge i gathered on this great site , thanks everyone .
Hi guys , i decided its time to make some logos , i spent the last night getting familiar with Inkscape .
Wow that is a really nice program and its free , Its not as easy as paint but its has the ability to draw vector drawing from pictures .
I could have used fonts similar to fenders , but i decided collect all the similar spagetti logo script to find the letters i needed to make my name . I found that the best were made by JBennett and ripped him off ...Thanks btw, he truly is the master so I used his fonts as a template for mine .
I have to say its not easy to size it all , any way i will get trough it .
I found those sheets locally , its my first try and i found it a little unreliable it may be the printer but i lost a bunch , i saved seven of them its still pretty good for 2 bucks . I need some practice there is lost of room for improvements .
I just print it backward and i set the logo up side down , i let it set too long and moved it .
Lesson learned , also i should probably go over the gold a second time .
Its getting there
I did another sheet and got lucky this time only 9 are trashed .
Its almost done , i need to make a pickguard and i will also change the bridge pup for one made by roadhouse , i currently use a fender reissue 52 , its sounds week compared to the neck even if the neck pup is around 5,5k .
It took over 24h to make one and 10 minutes to make 20 , its a good return on my investment.
I had to do them all !
Today , i am working on a logo for my yt ch , and work on the Valco/National project.
I had to practice a little , before making my own ...
Wow today i got some goodies from a friend , one almost full timbermate jar , sanding paper 180 and 320 twenty of each , 19 black plexiglass i could get a thousand literally its a little thick .110 i am not sure if i will use it ...
And then five 3/16 rod of 12 feet each , enough for 40 truss rods .
I usually like doing batches of stuff in advance i an not sure about this one .
Anyone used black plexi before?
Too bad he didn't give you any pre- made anchors for the steel rod!
Its the first time pre-made sounds so appealing to me !
Its 21 sheets of plexiglass , the size is sufficient for a telecaster pickguard not enough for a strat .
I am still hard at work on a logo for my ty ch ...i dont know witch i like best .
