Would anyone know why my power cable will work for my Metal Zone but not my RC3 Looper? It is a 9v franken-cable. I was surprised, maybe the Looper is a little more sensitive.

The metal zone is analog and uses around 20 ma. Whereas the RC-3 uses 70 ma. Look at your 9v power adapter for the MA rating. Also, yes power supplies are not all equal, so the Boss RC-3 might require something more.

Thanks, I was hoping there would be a simple answer. However, I've seen many people online that have had their rc3 crap out without warning. Wish me luck.

I started using my RC-3 with a non isolated common power supply, and when recording and playing back the loops, it made some unwanted noise. Now I am using it with a 1spot CS6 and the noise is gone. I think that pedal requires a good power source.

Thanks. I was using a battery and it went quiet and started clicking. Then it turned off. I replaced the battery, then ten minutes later it just went dead. Then another battery, and it has been ok for a couple days. I am just going to get a new power supply. Have a good night!
