With such ease he sings and picks.
I have guitars. I play them. I watch this and thus cannot call myself a “guitar player”.

An absolutely great musician (trombone too, I think - unless I was drunk), hilarious sense of humor and a genuinely nice guy. If I was any one of those things, I'd be very proud of myself.

He’s a lovely guy too. He borrowed my Bass VI at one of the gigs we supported him on. It’s tuned E-E, he capo-ed it up way down the fret board and made it sound amazing.

I think he was playing through my DR too that night.

I haven’t seen him for ages so with look out for him when he next comes to Europe.

    :) Peter

I have had the great honor to hang out with him a couple of times. Last time I was in Austin I was with a friend from the East Coast and Bill came in - turned out he knew both of us but neither of us new that the other knew him. We spent the evening together.

His playing is fantastic and his use of volume swells just blows me a way. He should be way more famous than he is.

Well, to be fair, Bill is one of the all-time greats. We can't all be all-time greats.

He's too much fun to hear live. As mentioned, he's a humorous, nice guy who just happens to have the talent of 17 people.

A subtle dude of a guy who doesn't have to try to blow you away to leave you entertained.

I saw him the first time in the '70s with the original CC & LPA and he was awesome. A few years back he played near my home and we saw him-he was even better now than back in the day. A little different than the James Burton, Albert Lee types but it is real Telecaster Twang! Great video!

First saw Bill Kirchen with Commander Cody & Lost Planet Airmen opening for Jefferson Airplane at Gaelic Park in '72. Been a fan ever since hearing Hot Rod Lincoln live.

I got to play with him once when he sat in with a band I was sitting in with. (It's less complicated than that sounds!) He was very slick and played with the natural ease of a pro. I was very nervous and might have made a couple of mistakes, but he was still gracious towards me.
