All my guitars are on Hercules stands, and every foam part of the stands are wrapped with a section of white cotton t-shirt cloth, even though Hercules states that their foam is non-reactive.
Sorry to see the damage, hope it’s not too tough to repair.

I just bought a roll of gaffers tape that someone recommended. Am going to wrap all of mine, even though I haven't had any problems- yet.

All my guitars are nitro and have been hanging on the Hercules 'locking' style hangers for years now......absolutely no reaction or damage.

This is good info, I guess it's on me. I don't believe any instructions were included, but maybe this info is on their site. Too late for me, spilt milk. But maybe someone learned something here, I know I did.

As for the earlier theory about weight, my 360-6 MapleGlo (1989) weighs more than this 330-12 FireGlo (2008). Finish on the 360 feels thicker and totally different.

Thanks to all who replied, I appreciate it.

My Les Paul 70s Tribute has got a cicatrice on the back of the nitro body due to reaction with stand padding.
Two home-sprayed guitars had their lower edge paint softened because of the foam on a multi-stand but luckily they were relic jobs so I didn't cry in my beer.

So now you have fourteen of them.
    Can you return them?
Guitar hangers ought to be lined with material that is safe for all finishes and not require reading the fine print, IMO.

    Sorry for your pain.
I had that happen to a heritage on
    a guitar stand.
    Had to send to mfg.
Did a great job fixing it.
I think it must have been nitro-cellulose,
those are the ones that melt.

Sorry for this, especially on a Ric 12! All my guitars are on hangers but they are all players with poly.

I use hockey tape. On any foam holder or stand. It's cheap, made of cotton, comes in colors, and you can re-cover it if it gets dirty, (which I've never felt the need to do, yet). Works great.
