...even a pre-"Dream On" Aerosmith as a club band. They weren't that great at that time but I could see that they were already a couple of big steps above our local club bands.

Thanks! Maiden was the first gig I ever went to in 1981, I was 14.

Big Star and The Monkees were reunion shows, I was far too young to see them first time round.

When I saw Big Star they were made up of Alex Chilton, Jody Shepherd and a couple of Posies - another great band I'm glad I've seen.

When I saw The Monkees, my brother and I jumped to our feet when they started to play Porpoise Song and everyone else sat down!

I liked Nevermind but I felt it was a bit too polished compared to Bleach. What was your band? Chances are I'd have liked you!

Oh man! So many I am glad I le to experience.....The Stones in 1965.....the Beach Boys in 1964....Led Zep in 1972. Loved seeing Trower, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, (at his worst and at his best) Edgar Winter, (with and without Johnny) Robert Cray, (in a little bar before he was famous and larger places after he was) Bonnie Raitt, (amazing everytime) Chambers Brothers, Jethro Tull, Delbert McClinton, (amazing!!) Greg Allman, BB King, Stray Cats, Emily Lou Harris, Average White Band, Tower Of Power, Howard Roberts, .....the list goes on!

Seeing Freddie King and Albert King on the same bill (back in 71 or 72) however, was something I will never, never, ever forget.

I kick myself for never seeing Big Star while Alex was still alive- especially as I am a big Posies fan. I'm doing a show with Ken Stringfellow after Christmas and I'm just going to do Big Star songs and try to lure him onstage.

I saw Jellyfish, I saw Redd Kross, Teenage Fanclub, The Pixies (before reunion tours), Ride, The LAs, every shoe gazing British band of the 90s- I saw Tin Machine withBowie, Keith Richards and the Xpensive Winos. I saw Elliot Smith with 12 people on a Wednesday night in Cambridge. I saw Ice T with Body Count, I saw Iggy Pop and NRBQ play Wooly Bully for 25 minutes straight one night!
