Saw this female Red-Breasted Merganser yesterday, made me me laugh, looks like she needs a brush and a blow dryer.

Not as funny looking as a kingfisher. I love shore birds, and birds in general.

There are a lot of funny looking shore birds and ducks.Strange animals and very wary of people compared to song birds and pond ducks.

I live very near Lake Huron and vacation on Georgian Bay. Terns, herons, mergansers, ducks on the water, songbirds in the woods, birds of prey over the escarpment, sometimes all within a few hundred feet.
