Congratulations to me on my first post in the TDPRI Vendor forum :).

To start off, I will repost images of my most recent concept guitar model illustrations, an as yet unnamed design that I completed several days ago and posted in the 'Other Guitar, Other Instruments' forum for comments. It's not really a 'new' design to me, I've had partially complete art of it for at least five years (make that ten years, the original crude sketch of it is dated 2007).

Regardless, I just recently resurrected it from my 'dustbin of forgotten guitars' and pushed it to completion.

I was informed via email late last night that this model, with several alterations, will likely be offered by Eastwood in 2018.

I submitted this guitar design to them last weekend, but hadn't had a response until around 11:00 PM yesterday.

I'm hoping that the cream neck bindings and fretboard inlays will be retained on any forthcoming production version of this model

I will definitely be changing the headstock, and probably remove the bevel cut seen on the curved cutout at the rear of the body, that location needs full body width to accommodate the cable jack.

Color options will be decided later, but I will predict that the metallic red/cream and metallic blue/cream will likely be offered, as those combinations have been used on previous Eastwood 'Backlund' guitars and suit this model quite well.

Congrats John! Always love your designs, and, I rather like the can opener!

I joined that "no new guitars in 2018" resolution thread.... here it is, December of 2017 and I'm already a liar.

    TAKE MY MONEY, NOW!

Something from 2011 that I'm currently sorting out. IMG_20171220_161809.jpg

The headstock I'm going to initially show on this guitar is....well....kinda 'ugly', but that's not to say it isn't suitable to the overall design.

Congrats. I dunno, don't tweak it too much, this is a great looking concept. I love the rear scallop, but understand the issue.

I can't promise anything, but I may be able to suggest these on that model...

I'm in a rather unusual situation here as a 'Vendor', in that I personally never build, or directly sell, anything.

My 'job' here, is to preview the guitar-related things I am working on, as raw concepts, up to finalized images of potential production guitars.

Of course, I can direct people to where some of these things can be purchased, which currently would be Eastwood Guitars, who have, or do, offer five of my guitar designs, the model 100, model, 200, model 400, the model 700 'Katalina', and most recently, the model 1100 'Marz 6'.

Currently being offered by Eastwood Guitars is my 'Marz 6' design. It's an oddball alright, but I bet you'd be the first on your block to be playing one of these Flash Gordon lawn darts...

Speaking of Flash Gordon lawn darts, I'm hoping this one finds itself in the 'ol production pipeline for next year.

    It's yet to be named...

Ohhhh...kay!......now it's probably an acceptable time (and place) to post some thinly-veiled, not-quite-subliminal, 'Backlund guitar' adverts posing as humorous and clever posters......

And as always, fellows, remember that Backlund guitars are available only from those fine folks at Eastwood. Accept no substitute!

    Thank you!

You'll be getting what will probably always be quite a rare guitar. Of course, I would like to be wrong about this, but I would be surprised if more than fifty to seventy-five Marz 6 guitars will ever be built.
