    Sad news Trev.

The big takeaway from this is have no regrets, either in what you do or keeping in contact with friends and family who matter.

Yes, sorry to hear it Trev. We aren't making old friends like we used to.

Note to self: time to do those important things with friends and family that I've been putting off.

I'm away with work this week, Walgett, Lightning Ridge, Brewarrina, Coonamble. Haven't been up here since I was about 10.. Not that there's a great deal to see, but always good to go bush! IMG_20190617_142855_1.jpg

Could well be, the do at the Bowlo was for the cockies and Robbie and disgraced ourselves by going to the RSL after the Bowlo closed for a few more beers and to listen to a local band.

This was a bad move because the workers were at the RSL and we weren't supposed to mix with them, our agent wasn't happy.

About 12 months later we played a show at Parramatta jail and mixed with the inmates for coffee & cake after the show and one of the jailbirds was Coco who told us he and few of his mates laid the greens at the Bowlo and then a couple of weeks after it opened broke in afterhours and stole the grog which they tipped out because it didn't have enough kick and switched back to metho ( he was in for armed robbery )

I laid the computer cables at parramatta around 1990. Played a show there too.

    Interesting place.

Ain't that the truth, playing at the rather infamous Parramatta Girls Home was even more interesting and no there was no way any of the show were going to be allowed to mix with the inmates.

They cafeteria chairs thrown in a jumbled pile that was the width of the hall and about 10' deep and about shoulder high like a tank trap between the girls and the stage, plus guards with batons on the stage

That's where we went after the Bowlo closed, probably more classy now than it was 40+ years ago.

Feck that makes me feel old

Yeah couldn't see a bowlo in town, when I googled it the RSL was the only result.. Thought the car park may have been bowling greens before getting tarred over
