I just put a bid on a Cozart 12-string Tele. It might be a fun addition to my Danoblaster 12.

I'd say for the money you can't go wrong. Handmade for $170. Seems like it would be worth a jump.

And hope you dont win that auction. These are devestatingly bad copies. The bridge is mislocated by 3/8 inch so it will never intonate without serious rework. The frets are not the same height leaving it unplayable in points along the neck. Unless the guy has figured out a way to resolve these problems you are better off without one.

I did, just yesterday. Same color too. The one I played was set up great and the fret ends were nice. The only things that I didn't care for was the neck was baseball bat huge and the tremolo arm was at about 45 degrees or so. I didn't like the position of it. Speaking of the neck, it has little less than a satin finish on it. Other than that I think it is a good deal at that price.

As a kid I had a Howdy Doody guitar that looked a lot like that. Seems like a major crap shoot as to whether you get one that's usable.

For that $$, why not just get a Squier Std & mod to taste?

Almost all of the low-end Chinese guitars are made in the Samick factory.

The 12 string has this issue or all of the Cozarts?

A lot of the decent cheap Chinese guitars such as Douglas/Richwood etc are made by AXL guitars who also sell their own designs and make and own VHT amps.A slow steady rise .My Richwood was great for the price and no issues at all .Others said the same .

    My bad experiences were

Limited to his 12 strings. Cant speak for other designs but I would still avoid Cozart like the plague unless I knew without a doubt I could return it for a full (shipping included) refund.

I got a Cozart DIY 6 String tele kit. the bridge is off on that. I'd say for the most part that they arent very good. I dont care about that to much though as I just got it for the "experience". Anyway I know its not the same as the finished ones, but Im sure they use the same templates for them regardless if they are going to finish them and sell them or make a kit out of it.
