I found this on the internet for sale near me. There's no certs with it but the relic on the body seems to match well what I can find out about the model on the internet. Anyways I'm interested in opinions.

    Thanks

    I'm thinking it's a fake. Anyone agree? Capture6.PNG Capture2.PNG Capture3.PNG Capture.PNG

The rear of the headstock label/sticker looks different. It could be a trick of the picture, but it looks somehow smudged. Not as crisp and sharp as you'd expect. Again, could be the photo, but is it too close to the edge?. Can't tell.
The body colour is wrong. ( could be the 'photo, but that doesn't look right )
    The pickguard is wrong.
That bridge is seven kinds of messed up in ways not yet thought of.
The relicing pattern to the fretboard appears different to the Fender stock images.
    The string tree looks wrong.
Patches of the body relicing look different. I know they are a hand finished interpretation, but even so.
    Wrong neckplate.
    No certs?. Really?

I can't imagine anything better than having a Telecaster that looks like raccoons tried to eat it.

With all the so called damage of the finish and tarnishing of the hardware, it's amazing that the custom shop decal survived.
    Fake

The whole point of these types of guitars is that in a run of 150 each guitar will be exactly the same. Any variation such as the wear on the back of the neck would easily prove that the current guitar is fake. Also where is the case and case candy. Why would any one spend over $5000 on a guitar and throw out the stuff that came with the guitar?

Also, would you pay that and have the intonation set like that?

That picture, the one I posted ( Oh look I';ve inadvertentl turned on the italicsˆ and I don;t know what I fumbled.

Anyway that one is from the link I posted, of a Jeff Beck Esquire for sale.
Other than the color, the pick guard, and the saddles, I think it looks legit, But extra relic'd for sure.
On the other hand, it bears the same number as the one you;re looking at.
Let's try to find another one.

The number is indeed a serial number.
How strange. the first one I looked at has the same serial # as the one in your pictures. At least as far as I can tell.

Someone out there actually owns a Jeff Beck tele with serial number JC253. I wonder how they feel about all the knockoffs sharing their serial number.

It looks to me like the neck plate has one of those black plastic gaskets underneath. Definitely not a Custom Shop feature.
