If there is 2 feet of snow I wear boots
I buy almost everything online. Unlimited selection, lowest prices, liberal return policies. Especially when you need unusual sizes or items. Stores are almost useless at this point. Except for like, milk. Some people order that online, too.
I'm in Lock Haven.

When I was a young man, and frequented bars, clad stylishly so in my cowboy boots and jeans, with a snappy western shirt as an accessory, I suffered extreme foot pain. I wore cowboy boots almost exclusively. One day, I discovered that when I went swimming my feet no longer hurt, I sat down and thought, what is different here? AH HAH, the cowboy boots. I quit trying to stick my size 12 EEEE feet in cowboy boots, and halleluiah I was cured, my foot pain was GONE! I find tennis shoes to be the perfect answer to relief.
you get boots that fit, you can wear 'em all night and stay comfortable, even at my advanced state of decrepitude. I've got a pair of Chippewas, roper toe but a western heel, that I can wear day in & day out. These new Tecovas are rough out, soft leather, don't expect them to last the 40 years this Chippewas have (true story!) but they're allday comfortable too. Key word is fit.
Right about now, I'm itching to wear my scandals, although it is scandals'n'socks weather, and I am aware of what the resulting opprobrium would be like.
Ohhhh , I read that as b**b's , sorry
So did I!
Sorry, that's likely a 2 hour drive one way.
”Anyone else have problems with limited local selection of boots?”
The internet is a limitless enabler
Sounds like a confession to me.
Here in Hawaii, flip-flops, or "slippers" as we call them, are the standard footwear, unless work dress codes demand otherwise. I don't think you'd find many cowboy boots here, but with the Portuguese and Hawaiian cowboy traditions, and the fact that the Japanese LOVE American western wear, there are a few stores that deal in them, and there is a Redwing store, and others shoe stores that deal in work boots for construction workers and others that need them.
nothing like a great pair of boots.
I'm in the other direction with a 11B. Most come in standard width of D, and I end up putting insoles in them. It works. I did get a nice pair of Dan Posts in a B once; only time I was that lucky.
I’m 5E and had to get custom made boots $800 a pair. Have 2 pair.
Last time I checked, there’s a nice cowboy boots store in New York in the lower Manhattan area.
I own a pair of boots but I only wear them in the winter
Here's it's a slightly narrow vs wide foot. I ordered narrow western Tony Lama style many hears ago but at this age and with a lot of physical activity I only like laced boots now.
Uncomfortable feet can be so miserable that I just do not skimp on footwear and socks. I get Swiftwick socks and footwear that has a low volume last even though it costs more. You can go to Zappos site and know in a hurry what is available for an unusual size even if you don't purchase there.
