Walked by the package store today and saw a Johnie Walker Black label gift set with awesome glasses. Kinda just wanted the glasses, but thought i never had a cold when i used to drink....so grabbed it...really don't drink but will have a Troegs Mad Elf beer and some special micro brews from time to time. I learned to pair with food as pure complimentary enjoyment and really have had some good meals. Do enjoy a fine cigar.... my whole band smokes so i finally joined them and my cuz(bass) works in a Cigar/Vape shop an i smelled this great cigar once..so now i fire up with them..looking for Scotch recommends. favor Vanilla, caramel, toffee flavors, don't like harsh..maybe a mellow one for neat sips maybe over 1 cube.

I actually have spring water from Scotland to open up my pours.

    Talisker 18, Balvenie 14 are my go-to.

I try not to ruin a good pour with food or smoke.

    Trip to Scotland ruined me.

we have a bottle of Laphroig and two kinds of johnnie walker. I like it fine. I only drink when a scotch drinker visits. for neat drinking, I really love Black Bushmills irish whiskey... over ice shards.. it is amazing.

I like Islay malts: Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg and Bowmore.
Other island malts, too: Talisker and Highland Park.

But my favourite was a Campbeltown malt, the 21-year-old Springbank.

I'm thriftier in my drinking these days. I switched to Japanese malts, but they are a different kettle of fish.

You might give RedBreast 15year a try, my favorite Irish pot still.

"Good" and "Scotch" don't belong in the same sentence.
I dont know what it is, I taste the bitter oak too much in Scotch. ... and I'm a Scotsman! I like Rye Whisky, so I doubt it's the Rye or Barley.

While flying in USN, we often "diverted" to Prestwick, Scotland, and took lorries down to Ayr where Johnnie Walker distillery is...don't recall much during the return trips however (wink).

Like Johnny Walker, too. All of 'em, especially Blue, but too rich for my blood.

Johnie Walker is rot gut. Any good scotch has a name that you're not certain you're pronouncing correctly.

About 20 years ago I bought a $60 bottle of Glenlivet when I paid my truck off, as a way to celebrate and reward myself. I'm so cheap I made that bottle last 2 years.

Single malt! The blends are whatever.

Love Scotches but the Bushmills single malt 10yr (or better) is my favorite bottle ever.

Not really, but I do like a good bourbon occasionally. Neat.

For some reason I've been watching this YouTube channel a lot the last couple of nights. Don't know why.

For folks who like to pretend they enjoy good Scotches.

EDIT: oops that's a pretty direct shot at OP. Sorry pal, just being a snob.
