    What's up y'all?!
I'm building my niece a lil jagstang, thought I'd share the cake.

The neck is maple... No fretboard yet
The body is ??? I scored a long board of something or other out of my bros grandfathers barn rafters... It's something he cut himself many years ago. It's light, tough and resonates nicely! Idk, white cedar?, basswood? ... The body is A 4 piece.

    Rock!

Looks like I'll have to cannibalize guitars. I like when no one knows what goes in to building a guitar from scratch lol

... About to knock down a truss rod channel. Hideous contraption ain't it!
    Does the trick

As for a fretboard, what do ya think?
I got oak, black walnut and maple on hand.

I bet if you cut a maple fretboard blank and roasted it for 4 hours at 200 in the kitchen oven while clamped flat it would come out a nice caramel color. Cheap and cool!

    Done.
24" scale neck... I want to do one of them dark wood plugs with truss rod access that fender does... What do you do? Clamp on the fretboard and do the drilling then install t rod and glue the fretboard? Then glue in the plug? It's magic lol

What if I made a fret board out of the crazy spalted maple crap? I got a couple boards of this in the Adirondacks a few years ago... I'm tempted.
