    • So Im obviously a massive Andy summers fan, just look at my user name ;) and my dream guitar is the Custom Shop Andy summers Tele, but they are an awful lot of money!! In searching I see there is this person/company on eBay and/or Reverb, called the Painted Player Guitar Co. out of the UK. They have what looks and sounds like a great replica (non relic’d) of the Andy Tele and supposedly using Fender US body and neck?? They still want a good chunk of change though. Anyone have any experience with these people??

No experience with them, but have you considered building a partscaster? Even using prefinished bodies and necks and boutique aftermarket pickups, I think you could still come in at half that price or less.

Probably the best way to go for saving money. I don’t know anything about wiring electronics...have a friend who does though :)

Looks like you could start with a Squier Classic Vibe Custom, add $150 and be there.

If you go the partscaster route, Armadillo Guitar sells an Andy Summers bridge plate and saddles.

My main tele is called "Andy" and is a Baja 50's neck on a CVC body with a Dimarzio 36th anniversary PAF and a Cavalier Nash/Huge Twin Lion (the switch for that is my version of Andy's onboard boost).

It gets close enough for me. I was thinking about getting the Armadillo bridge, but not sure I wanted to spend almost 2 bills on it.

But, yeah, you could definitely build your own out of parts for less than that. Even if you paid a professional to do the routing.

I may swap the Twin Lion for a Bakersfield/Fat/Humongous Lion I just got from Rob.

Honestly, I think that, after the picklup config, the most important feature to emulate Andy's sound would be the out-of-phase switch. Other than being Andy Summers, of course. :)

I've seen these guitars on eBay and thought the prices were outrageous.

Huge AS fan to. So glad this new side band I’m working in is hip doing some of the Police. Our female singer is really good at it. I use his preset in my TC Flashback Delay. HNGD! It’s a fine me guitar. hope you buy
