I've had this guitar for 10 years now and it is one that makes me smile every time. I bought right after I graduated college from a pawn shop in Billings, MT. It's a 74' and such a solid guitar. I got lucky with this one. Thanks for looking

    Very cool!
    I had a sunburst 1975 D35 in my youth.
    Loved it!

I love the sunburnt ones! You just never see them around. I think I've only seen a handful online

The wonderful Brennen Leigh has a nice sunburst D35.
    She can play it, too.
    Great singer, writer, mandolinist/guitarist!
    You might YouTube her.
    Brennen's is a 75, I believe.

Very nice! A couple things caught my eye. One was the converging angle of the back braces through the sound hole. I never noticed that before. Is that sort of rare or unique to that model? Also, you don't see the Martin label through the sound hole either. Did it fall off, or is it the angle? Just curious.

I'm really not sure on the braces. Someone here with a better knowledge of bracing might be able to chime in on that one.

As far as the label goes, there is not one. In the guitar on the heel block the serial number and model is stamped into the wood. Also, on one of the braces there is something like "Martin, made in Nazareth, PA" inside the body. I'm not sure when they started applying labels. I have a 54' 00-17 also and it has the same thing. Thanks for checking it out!

Thinking about the braces on an angle, it might just be due to the 3 piece back. If you look at the back pieces it follows that angle. That's probably it.

Thanks. The thought occurred to me those converging braces might be there to reinforce the seams for the three pieces of the back.

Ok you chimed in just ahead of me there. Agreed.
