What a weird night... first, up at 1:30 and to the emergency vet with a sick dog. Driving home at 3:30, I hit an owl with my car; it came out of nowhere, dodged at the last minute. I just grazed it, and I think it flew away, but hit it right on the front windshield. 1/2 mile down the road THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WTF? I got home, brought the dogs to bed, but they had to pee. Wife and I are both up, we bring them out the front door, and there is a skunk in the yard. Dogs go nuts. Skunk turns and runs. A few moments later dogs went tearing across the yard in an insane rage; 7 deer are walking down the middle of the street as if they own it.

    Very surreal.

    Wow, speaking of that...

The other morning I left for work and my neighbor's fence was lined with crows. 20 or 30 of 'em. I jokingly remarked to my kids, "Uh oh, someone's gonna die in that house".

The very next day the neighbor right across the street from the crow house died in a not-very-pleasant manner.

We (humans) are the ones that are out of place.
The critters probably think "WTF" every time they have to
    dodge our vehicles/encroachment.
A few years ago, while leaving for work, I saw an injured dove.
I gathered it up in my hat, and took it to the Humane Society.
On route, I saw a pair of hawks on a tall light pole.
I have rarely seen what appeared to be a mated pair.
As I progressed further toward the HS, another hawk did a "kamikaze" into
the windshield of passing pickup truck.
3 odd bird adventures within an hour.
