Those are great pickups. Way underrated.

My WR tele I put a rosewood squier neck on it (a bit thicker than the stock maple) and a black pickguard (replacing a white pearl).

The cover was so loose on the neck pup that I took it off and put on an open top cover.

I ended up giving to my wife's cousin, whom I adore, so it is in good hands.

I bought the P Bass on CL and after 5 years of it mostly collecting dust, i put it up for sale on a FB gear group and it ended up back in the hands of the guy I bought it from. :)

This is mine, it had a hard life before I got it.

It is a dark colour though.

But the second listing you posted literally says “midnight wine” in the description as well as the html link.

I was going to respond to the OP that the first guitar looked great, but you WAY outdid him. That is one of the best looking tele's I've seen, and I may have just gone from 'not needing another guitar' to, well... you know...

Thanks. I wanted to build your standard Blackguard repro, but then I saw this body being auctioned on eBay by MJT - the rest is history!

As Jerry G said about licorice, most people don't like it much, but those who like it, really like it. Ditto Wine Red. If it sold, they would make and sell it and it would be common.

Ah, but this fills a gap in my Tele arsenal for a humbucker loaded machine.

I'd go with an SS configuration but this guitar with a four way switch is an out and out beast.

I known right mate. If i had to pick Humbucker i would like it to be in Bridge position. I really dig single coil neck pickup at any guitar. Hoping for New MiM's for 2020. Would love to own Wine Red or some Deep Cherry Red Tele with Maple neck

Definitely a sharp combination. Not my favorite, but I’d rock one.

I only own one Telecaster... 1999 MIM Midnight wine. It was local, in good condition with flat wound .012's on it, probably previous owner played jazz on it? Not much fret wear at all. With a hard case, and strap... I found it languishing on Craigslist. Alder wood body, maple neck in a satin finish. Someday I'll get a MIM Ash body, too. Who knows, someday, maybe I find one used with a full rosewood one piece neck and fretboard.

My 2007 American Series with Fralin Steel Pole 42s. Love this color, whatever it's called. Love the look feel of the rosewood fretboard.

That's my EXACT Tele! ( well, same color/era)

Mine is 2004, made enough $$ on a NYE Gig to pay for it!

Mine is 100% stock, but has had frets leveled as I'm rough on frets...
It sounds great, very comfy neck ( with radius/ medium jumbo frets)

BUT it is pretty heavy ( and I play sitting down!) so I play my aging ( light!) Tex-Mex Stratocaster for most gigs.

Hoping to sell this Tele and get the much lighter ( funky/beautiful) '69 Tele Thinline RI in mahogany someday.
