    Please explain to me what the reasoning is for cranking the action that high, because I seriously want to know what would inspire someone to do this.

    If you like the tone, lower the pickups and then lower the string height. A better action would make that way better to play.

    They "match" other aesthetics of the shoe and my trademark burnt orange University of Texas at Austin hoodie.

    That's going WAY sharp even before you touch the fret high.
