    Ask The Ages is one of my favorite records. Doesn't qualify for this thread but everyone should hear it. Pharaoh and Elvin too.

    There are probably Derek Bailey records like that (solo electric) but unlike Sonny Sharrock, I think that dude was just pulling our leg ...:eek:

    The John Fahey album "Red Cross" is solo electric guitar, if memory serves.

    Fred Frith - Guitar Solos.
    He uses a 1936 Gibson K-11 fitted with two pickups. Often the guitar is 'prepared' in various ways - think of John Cage and his Prepared Piano' works.
    Assorted effects get used too.
