He remains in custody at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on a $3,000 bond.

Police ran a criminal background check on Anderson and found his license had been suspended since 1978 and he was convicted of a DUI two other times as well.

“I’m proud of the professional demeanor our officers showed when dealing with this heavily-intoxicated, belligerent offender,” said Haines City Chief of Police Jim Elensky. “It’s never a good idea to get behind the wheel drunk, even if that wheel is to a Craftsman, Massey Ferguson or John Deere.”

    Anderson’s lawn mower was towed.

    These are great.

Disappointed there weren't any pics of the lawnmower and they didn't state how far from his lawn the mower was (I would guess pretty far).

It's always us... except when it's not. Occasionally, Texas has its days when they beat FL in the nutty department, but a few days later, we just grab the Stanley Cup of Strange right back.

I would try to commute from New Orleans to the Orlando area by car and that's 660 miles and by the time I was headed across FL 46, finding my way from I-75 over toward DeLand and all that and it'd be late and these stupid drunks on their bicycles in the inky darkness. All I could guarantee was it wasn't gonna be me that hit them.

Dogs, and black bears, and all manner of small varmints in the road, and a lot of this was just 1 lane in each direction. Might as well be Jamaica. How did Florida get into the Union in the first place?

But, everyone says Polk County is even worse. How could it be worse?

All the nuts roll downhill to Florida.
