Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dave Matthews Band
Have to agree. Mostly like the McCartney tunes...and not all of them, but just generally find Lennon grating ... Ringo too.
The Smiths (I have a feeling that I will spend my late 40's totally into them)
Alice In Chains
Rolling Stones, The Who.
And since this is my chance to get this off my chest.... Bob Dylan comes off as a dick to me. Never liked him.
Me too for the Stones.
Others: Bruce Springsteen, Lennon and Dylan (just cant get into the legend thing), The Doors and Guns n Roses Marilyn Manson (cant get over the thought that they are imposters)
I couldn't get into Wilco either..then they released Sky Blue Sky which i LOVE and i could then go back and revisit their other albums and hear them anew.. their Kicking Television live cd also changed my opinion on them..seeing them in concert a few times was just sensational..a desert island band for me these days
Billy Joel, supertramp, kansas, rush, firefall, pearl jam, the dead, Phish, did I mention billy joel?
and the Beatles? they're sounding more and more like everly brothers to me
This is the funniest thread yet...
I dislike all the rest of the bands that no one has mentioned.
Springsteen (with the exception of the Nebraska album which is fantastic), Grateful Dead, Elvis Costello, and Frank Zappa.
Unlike a fair number, I dearly love The Who. They kept me sane in high school.
Equally, unlike a fair number here, I don't get the Rolling Stones. A handful of good songs, mostly from three records but otherwise dull lyrics & uninteresting music.
Now it's my turn to run for shelter from the thrown objects
The Dead, Phish, Rush
The Beatles. CS&N after Y (I was never a fan of Neil Young).
@richiek65 Thanks! I'll check Sky Blue Sky out and see if it helps
For me it is anything pop rock starting with the Beatles. Plus, virtually anything from 1979 to early 1990s. Nothing post Black Sabbath and pre White Stripes, I basically never even heard it. I'm a blues/blues rock/classic blues rock I fan thru and thru. If it wasn't for Jack White, I probably would still have the radio off.
Pointless thread that produces lists, not discussion. Who said anyone "should" like an acclaimed band?
I can't stand the Beatles. Why "should" I have?
Kiss - Never got it
Guns and Roses
and further more I think milk comes from Cats !
I should like U2.. I dig a few of their songs, but never connected with them.
