A nice simple phaser?

I'm looking at the MXR Phase 95 mini...wondering if any of the Chinese knocks offs are a better value? Doesn't have to be mini necessarily.

Just looking for simple, decent quality, good sound...not trying to cop anything in particular.

    Thanks!

    I’ve been using a vintage block-logo MXR Phase 90 for 20+ years.

It’s got the “script” circuit board in it—and it sounds spectacular for my purposes.

You can probably find a real Phase 90 for like 30 bucks used. Get it and be done.

The Mooer looks good. I assume that switch is vintage(script)/modern?

    edit: Yeah...duh...just watched a demo/comparison to the MXR 90

Whirlwind Orange Box. Look for a used one. Build by the folks who built the original MXR's.

I have a Phase 95. Nice in that it has more flexibility, but with the band the only thing I ever tweak is the speed.

I had a Joyo but found it had a very thin tone..I currently have an Xtomp (amazing little thing!) and the phase 90 model on that is fantastic, I've borrowed a mates phase 95 for comparison, I've got cloth ears but there is no difference that I can hear, though the 95 does have more than the basic phase 90 sound if you want it

The other player in my band has a Boss PH3, I'm gonna steal it from him one day, it has some glorious sounds in it

I bought a Behringer Vintage phaser. Large metal box based on ( read cloned with no conscience ) a more famous pedal. It's simple, it does phasery things very well, they're chump change second hand.
If a phaser was used for more than one song in the set, I'd maybe look at something else, but as it is, it does the job.

I've gone down this Rabbit hole. Let's see, Phase 95, Ibanez PH10, Analog Small Stone, BYOC Phase 45, Pigtronix Envelope Phaser, Boss PH2, Valeton Phaser, EBS bass phaser. As well as the Helix and Zoom G3 phasers. Jeez, what a waste of time. I could have bought a BF fender amp instead! They are all different, but at the end of the day, phase is phase, more or less!

The Phase 95 is great, takes up little space, feels solid, 4 flavors built in - can't go wrong, really. Go for it.

I have the PH2 on my board right now. That's a funky one, kind of like a Flanger and can be had cheap. But I rotate them for fun, just because I'm to lazy to list them. One of these days.

My advice is to just get a phaser and be done with it!

I love my Phase 90. Adjust speed to desired setting, play, done.

MXR Phase 90. There's a reason it's been around forever.

    FYI...the Joyo clone is noisy.

I have a basic block phase 90 with the script mod, I clipped a leg of a resistor, cant remember which one now. R37 maybe? It was years ago. Sounds great. I think it was an improvement over stock. The mini 95 looks cool. I think it's switchable from block to script. If I was in the market i'd check one of those out.

DOD Phasor 201. Try to find one of the old ones. The new reissues are OK, but the old ones are solid.

I use a regular block-logo Phase 90 and an EHX Nano Small Stone. Either of those takes care of phasers for me. If I were in the market for another, I would definitely check out the Phase 95.

I have a bunch of phasers too.

    I prefer it to chorusing.

I think you've got the right idea with the Phase 95.

I also own a TC Electronic Programmable Phaser, MXR Phase 90, MXR Phase 100, Ibanez Ap7, Ibanez Ph7, Boss Ph2, and Boss Ph3.

The Phase 95 sounds the best to me and has a tiny footprint. I got mine used for $60. Not the cheapest, but affordable, and worth it to me.
