Thanks guys. I did have the reverb just cracked due to all of you reverb haters out there.

I actually find the neck just right and the bridge a little too hot. I may rewind it to about 10k. Luckily, the treble bleeds let me dial back the volume a touch and things clean right up and sound a little more civil. I need to hear Mark play this through his Carr Rambler. That is a MAJOR amp. Tone summit anyone?

America needs more reverb - aside from more cowbells!!!

Yes sir! Tone summit soon! Before you rewind the bridge see if you can't be satisfied with the volume rolled down. That treble bleed circuit makes the entire sweep completely usable. I thought the bridge sounded great!!! Great job on these Rob.

PS: Maybe a little more reverb will mellow out the bridge pickup???

How about reverbed cowbells? And, of course, sharks with lay-zers?

I thought I'd post this here as this might be of some interest to to y'all pickup winders out there...

...trying out alternative sources for pickup materials. The eyelets come from a model toy store, and I got a bunch of forbon from a knife-making supplier. It is too thin to be used as is, but a bit of CA glue will take it to the right thickness. It worked out at 40 euros inc. shipment, and I have enough for about 60-70 pickups! I know some knife-making supplies website sell 2mm/2.5mm forbon, for a lot cheaper than the specialized pickup parts websites. The denomination varies - not all of them mention "vulcanized fiber" - but they often call it "fiber liner spacer". This might be useful for European winders, as Forbon is hard to find over here and really expensive to purchase from the US...
