I took a few pics while the sun was out today of my new Taylor 110e prototype.
Man, what a sound !
Hey John! Yes, according to Taylor this was a proto made last August with a Mahogany top. They confirmed it was the only one made that way.
Unique then! I'm obviously a huge fan of Taylors ever since my first one back around 1998 or so.
I like the way they did the mahogany. I've played a few "ordinary" 110s and liked them lot. I might like the mellower tones of a mahogany top even more.
I like the top. Nice color.
Congrats; that's a beaut.
Very nice! I was gonna say the "spruce" is honeying nicely. I have a BigBaby Taylor spruce top '05 that is turning color well now and sounds great. Great tone.
p.s. It looks very near your color.
Tony, After playing many guitars, including the 2017 110e walnut which I really liked, the Mahogany top definitely adds a more mellow tone. Since I just got it I'll wait till I change strings but I might try strings with a slightly brighter tone.
Nice! A one off Taylor guitar! Lucky you! I've got a couple myself and love them.
