CTS pots and CRL and switchcraft switch and jack are what I use. If you aren't a decent solderer, it isn't a bad price. Pots run about 5 dollars per unit, a couple bucks for the jack, 8 dollars for the switch. Control plates and knobs vary depending on who made them and who is selling them. Time is money. Sometimes it's worth it to have somebody else do the work. These guys buy parts in bulk and pay less than you and I would too.

I bought a loaded custom shop 69 strat guard a few years ago and it was very nice quality for a great price. Worked out cheaper than me buying all the parts individually and putting it together myself.

Good to know, leaves the PU’s and grounds to solder.
Makes me curious, does there exist loaded control plates and PU’s, etc with plug in harnesses? Surprised no one has created these, easy plug/unplug components?

I have a 4-way reverse layout from them in a mim. The tone control is a big improvement over stock, and the quality is great. I'm a fan!

I think you can ask for that as an upgrade from 920d. Worth messaging them and asking. They also used to have a store on fleabay.

I have them in 4 guitars, good quality and built by actual players. They know their stuff and good quality components. You can't go wrong.

    Good to know Milspec, thanks!
Choosing PU's I think, will be far more challenging. My initial thought was just Fender Vintage, but the more I listen to others, the more I change my mind ;)

There is another eBay seller who specialized in solderless rigs.

He used either Bourn or CTS and all top notch stuff... I'll research and edit post. Obsidian out of NZ is another that does high end solderless rigs too.

Of course there is the killer all in one kit solderless Twang King rig sold on Amazon

Wow I was not aware of the solderless twang king kit on Amazon which is funny because I was looking at Twang king pick ups LOL
Looking at their installation video any other pick ups to be installed down the road can use the same screw down mechanism to connect the wires I would think?

It's a bit pricey sure but a killer kit. Up and running in minutes with no Fuss or mess. Twang Kings are great. You could swap out tele pups easily or flip the Twang King kit fast on eBay - doubt you would - great setup!

If you want noiseless there is a solderless dimarzio kit on Amazon with those too.....

I've used them for 4 builds/mods, they're great. The control plate is always soldered so nice and neat, without the wires hanging all over the place all loosey goosey like... Great stuff!

Their loaded pickguards are also fantastic.

Their customer service is also phenomenal. They've gone as far as creating a custom schematic for me for a project.

The offerings from 920D are top notch. I purchased a fully loaded Strat pickguard, which contained all top quality components, great soldering, carefully packaged and fully assembled for less then I could have purchased all the separate pieces.

    Would highly recommend them.

I've used these guys. Their pre-wired plates are top quality.

Have 3 guitars with their pre-made plates...also have an ObsidianWire no solder setup in an unusual Strat...they both are very VERY good outfits
