Ran across this at GC a couple of days ago and picked it up yesterday. 2004 model almost mint with a nice bakelite guard. Absolutely LOVE the necks on these as well as the 60s Classic strats.

    Fresh from the store

    Nice.

I like these necks too and have used them on builds.

Pop some av64 pickups in there. Big improvement.

Id also put a 3 ply eggshell on there .

    I love it, congrats!
I have bought the very same guitar a few months ago and I was thinking that 64s pickups are the only mod it needs to become a great guitar. This and a one ply white 5 holes pickguard.

    Enjoy!

Not changing a thing about this guitar, especially the pickguard. Really like the look of the bakelite and there's no static buildup. I have a habit of dragging my pinky across the pickguard.

Congrats I have a 2017 Classic Series 60s in CAR on the way and I’m excited! Wanted to grab one before they were gone. I noticed the bridge plates seem off center on some of these (other Teles too). Why is that?

Very nice. I'm envious. How much did you pay...?

That bakelite guard is a 5-hole, that is non-vintage for a '60's Tele, but damn it is sweet. It looks '60's, like it's ready to snarl! Plug it in !!

    That looks great, Lon!

Would it be possible to shoot an image of the body with the pickguard off? Love to see how much that white finish has shifted.

    Thanks!

Bought a new black one 2012, sold it after 12 months, regretted selling it after 12 days.
Then, not too sure relatively now, for the money it was/is a great Tele.

Yeah, I always wonder about the Classic pickups. The fact that the bridge units have no baseplate just bothers me for some reason, even though I'm probably too deaf at this point to tell the difference, if there is one.
I'd be inclined to go with a single-ply white guard for that Robben Ford/Bloomfield look.
