Spent Sunday at the Musical Instrument Museum in Scottsdale, AZ. Loads of cool stuff (Dragons and Vines exhibit. Holy cow.

I figured this lot would appreciate the attached image. Enjoy.

Too bad FMIC doesn't offer the Esquire these days.

An example of what they looked like when they left the factory. I'd say that one spent a lot of time in a case.

MIM is just up the street from my place. Great fun and amazing venue for live shows. I need to get back over there now that you've posted the Esquire!

I'm always shocked by how white the finish on blackguards is when they haven't spent time under UV rays!

The grain printing through that finish is one of the beautiful happy accidents that I can just imagine Leo grumbling about.

Awesome example of the (probably) sexiest
    guitar model on this planet.
    Thanks for posting.

    ^^ Champ sounding like a wasp in a jar?^^

    No way!

An entomologist might describe it more like a happy honeybee :D

I've got one of the reissues. I'm sure it's not considered a great amp, but I love mine. I call it the Juice Box! IMG_0220.JPG

Listen to the original version of 'Layla'. Clapton and Allman used them in the recording studio. Definitely a wasp hive.

    Sounds like a Champ alright,
I built a 5F1 with a Weber 6" Alnico, and it can make those tones all day long.
