    Thanks everyone!

I just got done telling my friends how heavy the bass was and then Evan came in and picked it up and said something about how he's so happy that it's light. Haha. Apparently he was expecting it to weigh like 20 lbs.

How am I going to top it? It depends on what you like I guess, but next up I'm planning on building two 7 string guitars at the same time. Twin builds except with different tops and fretboards. I want to see if doing two at a time will help make things faster (less setup time for each step, etc). I don't play 7 strings, personally, but it seems like a lot of people I know like them so I figured I'd make a couple. After that I have like 13 other builds planned out... :D

I also received some new guitar wood yesterday... :)

Great project, Lisa, that turned out very, very well. Thanks for taking us along on the ride, I've enjoyed it a lot. You've got a great eye, and are truly an innovator. Can't wait for the video clip.

The bass came out wonderfully! You've done an amazing job on it.

So what does Evan think of it now that he's gotten to play it for a while?

    Thank you!

He told me that it felt like he was holding an expensive Fodera bass. I think I'll take that as a huge compliment.

He has also told me multiple times how much he LOVES the Bartolini's and the pre-amp and would recommend them to anyone.

    Thanks!!

    Thank you!

It looks like he has a festival all weekend, so I'm thinking the video shoot might be next weekend. Hopefully someone gets some pictures/videos at the festival.

    Congratulations on the build!

Your guitar is a work of art.

A lot of folks (myself included) would be thrilled to pull off a guitar even half as creative!

Looking forward to the next build!

    Cheers,

    Mark

As a sort of bass player myself, this looks awesome. I have thought about building my own, but then I look at this, or some of the builds on talkbass and wonder if I should bother. The only thing that makes me want to is it's not easy to find what I want. A 5-string passive PJ.

Again a wonderful build. Can't wait to hear it.

Another admirer here. That is spectacular and beautiful. I love the detail and how you created an unusual design that still looks classic. Very well done.

    Thanks!

Nope, we haven't shot the video yet. He's playing a festival this weekend. If I see any pictures/videos of him playing the bass there, I'll be sure to post them.
