I told my wife that the 2 and a half months between buying our retirement home and the deal actually closing was going to be the slowest 2 and a half month of our lives. I can't wait to get the keys, settle in and get my new shop set up.

Is that a pic of your retirement home? Awesome - I'll have to say I read your post and thought at first you were going to the 'Keys' but that didn't match your pic at all so I slowly re-read it! Congrats!

I've still got a ways to go before I officially retire, but we've had our eye on this place for a while and when it came available we jumped on it. Luckily our current home is in a place where values have skyrocketed over the past few years, so we're going to come out a little bit ahead. And another plus is that I can work from home about 25% of the time so we will be spending as much time here as possible in the meantime.

It looks like one of the places you see on HGTV shows. Congrats! Where are you anyway?

Jealous. That’s pretty much my ideal home, from the looks of it.

Hmm. I know there's a town in North Ontario, with dream comfort memory to spare.

    Someone had to.

I'll be up that way in July - what dates would you like me to visit?

Wow, John. That is spectacular. Congratulations.

Whereabout in Northern Ontario? Is that a lake, or is it James Bay?
