    Here is my second Pinecaster.

Marty supplied the Eastern Pine body.
    BL Keystone Pups.
Glendale Twang saddles and magnetic bridge.
Pickguard might be changed out to a white 5 hole.
Fender MIM neck with the thin radius plays great so I used it.
Finished with Howards Feed N Wax to give it that nice golden color.

Sounds really nice and diffrent from the Sugar Pine.
Odd thing is it weighs more than the Sugar which has 3 pups.

That looks great ............ I like it with that pickguard. I see you're only using five screws. You might consider cutting the heads off three screws and gluing them into the open screw holes. If you use something like E-6000 or Goop, you can always remove them later.

I had to drill the holes for the guard but I wasn't sure what I would use a 5 or an 8 hole. Thats the only reason I didn't drill out all 8. I really liked the look of this guard too.

This decal is going on it tomorrow.

The grain on this pece would make a beautiful Butterscotch and I almost had it done.

I was at Home Depot today looking for some colors and found the Howards Feed N Wax. It looked like it would be a nice thing to try. Turned out to be fine.

The pickups on this are some crankin hot ones! I bought Bill Lawrence Keystones for $64 and that includes both pups and shipping. Great deal.

    That is awesome!!
I hope you do change to a white guard, even if it's just long enough to take a pic.

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I don't care for tort guards at all.

    Tort anything for that matter.

Suggestion ............... reduce the size of your pictures before you post them here. Each of those pictures is around 6 megapixels. The forum software does resize them but if someone is on dial-up, it takes forever for them to download. You should reduce them to a width of 640 pixels before posting them here. Yours are 2816 x 2112.

Your last post had 9.8 MB of pictures ........... Do you know how long it takes to download 9.8 MB using dialup ........ probably around a half hour.

    Hey Arlo.
That's what i'm talking about dude.
    F F F F Fine looking tele's. The piners sure look great.
Regarding your pickguard choice, here's a site i forgot about for a while, but it's great for seeing what different options would look like on your guitar in a virtual way. Once you get the hang of it, it's a god send for potential designers. Mix the shades till you get close to your guitar colour. Add the pups, control plate etc, then try some different guards to see what works, without spending a dime. Just hit the tele symbol, then press i agree at the bottom. Will come in handy for the next project for sure :p

Real nice, a great job well done. I'm another who would prefer a white guard on it though. JMHO. Two beautiful looking guitars.

    Awesome ...

... - great looking Tele! If it was me - I'd settle for the pickguard that's already on it. Never change a winning team. How does it sound?

    ps....
Personally, i'm not keen on white guards over natural wood, and think the tortoise shell looks fine. I also think the black guards look great.
If you have a few spare bucks, check these out. He takes the p with his prices, but if you can't make your own, it's an option. The key seems to be the copper foil underneath.
